Urgent Rally – IT’S TIME to Stand Up to Big Polluters

May 7th, 2009 · 1 Comment

- Stop handouts to big polluters
- End the influence of the fossil fuel lobby
- Fast-track clean, renewable energy
- Create green jobs and protect the climate

Details: 10am-12noon, this Saturday 16th May, Sydney Town Hall. March to ALP Offices (377 Sussex St, Sydney).

Speakers: Cate Faehrmann (Nature Conservation Council of NSW), Senator Bob Brown (The Greens), Simon Sheikh (GetUp!), Graham Brown (ex-Hunter Vallay coal miner and climate change activist), Bev Smiles (Mudgee District Environment Group), Holly Creenaune (Friends of the Earth Sydney).

PLEASE BRING: Banners and placards to show your opposition to handouts to big polluters, and your support for strong climate action.

Join this peaceful community protest to oppose the Federal Government’s recent moves to weaken an already inadequate Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. Enough is Enough when it comes to the undue influence of big polluters over decisions being made on climate change.

Please contact Jonathan Boys on (02) 9279 2466 or if you can help out on Saturday.

Organised by the Nature Conservation Council of NSW and Walk Against Warming.
