The working group on the NO NEW COAL CAMPAIGN would like to invite all groups, NGOs and anyone else who would like a great day out, to participate in a fun action on Bondi Beach.

We intend to do a coal cleaning demonstration to show our opposition to the government’s attempts to:

1. Build two new coal fired power stations at Mt Piper (2000mw) and Bayswater (2000mw)

2. Privatize by stealth of some of NSW power assets

3. Coal fired upgrade at Munmora (700mw)

4. Show that there is no such thing as clean coal.

We want to show them what a joke Carbon Capture and Storage, CCS or CLEAN COAL is.

All you need to do is book us into your diaries for the Saturday 30 January 2010. 10am sharp until 1pm and let James or myself know if you or your group are coming. We would like to make a human sign on the beach saying NO NEW COAL while we are washing lumps of coal so we estimate we will need at least 300 people but the more the better. The media should like that! It will be a great day out!

Catch the train, clean some coal (what a joke) and spend the rest of the day at the beach or do the cliff walk to Coogee – the coastal foot path is really beautiful and it reminds us all why we campaign so hard.

What to bring/wear

• Your own bucket and brush • white clothing to wear (with the more black marks over them the better so we can get the message across that there is no such thing as clean coal. You can buy white disposable overalls for about $10.00 at a hardware store. • As many friends, groups as possible

• Water bottle for drinking (that is not cleaning coal).

• Sunscreen, hat , beach shade and

• a good sense of humour!

Look forward to seeing you all there.
