Climate Action Newtown (CAN) is one of several hundred local climate action groups that have formed around Australia in response to the growing threat of climate change and the lack of any credible response by first the Howard and now Rudd governments.

CAN’s activities vary from local-level community education to lobbying and advocacy work at state and federal levels. We have a fast growing supporter list of over 100 households in the Newtown-Redfern-Marrickville area.

Getting involved need not mean a regular time commitment. Joining our supporter email list will keep you abreast of local and national campaigns and opportunities to come along to events and actions as and when you can make it.
