We believe that a well resourced network of community climate action groups and activists can turn the tide on government inaction on climate change. But we can only get so far relying on volunteer time and few resources.

Your support will go toward funding a Climate Movement Coordinator position, which aims to deliver the following for the Australian Climate Movement:

• Maintaining the central directory, map and web presence of climate groups at ClimateMovement.org.au – so people can connect with local climate action.
• Organising quarterly strategy meetings of climate action groups, campaigners and activists – so you can keep focused on your campaigns and activities.
• Building and maintaining the ClimateMovement.org.au Online Collaboration Space – facilitating a central calendar of events, project management tools, discussion space and more – so groups can work together on the great initiatives they are involved with.
• Delivering capacity building and skills development workshops around communications, media, membership recruitment and strategy – so new campaigners can be skilled up.
• Moderating, maintaining and building the Climate Action Groups e-list – to keep us connected and in communication.
• Developing a program of seminar/workshops to connect action groups and activists to experts in science, policy and technology – so activists have access to the latest information.
• Supporting and coordinating movement-critical events such as Australia’s Climate Action Summit – so we all work together for a common vision.
