On 27th March, community groups across Australia organised demonstrations outside the offices of 40 Members of Parliament, calling for their opposition to the inadequate Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.

See http://stepitupaustralia.wordpress.com/ for more photos and stories.
The actions were the first of four community joint actions for 2009. See http://climatesummit.org.au/ for more information.

Climateers from across the country are invited to participate in the inaugural Queensland Climate Movement Summit - one of the most exciting grassroots community convergences in Queensland of recent years.

The Summit is an opportunity for activists, thinkers and citizens to meet to discuss ideas, issues, opportunities, campaigns and strategies in response to the impacts of climate change.

The overall aim is to encourage discussion and co-operation between groups and individuals who are working on (or interested in) climate change in order to strengthen and build a movement for change.
